M\u00e4rz 2007 (Saarbr\u00fccken)<\/p>\n<p>1926-2007, studierte in Stuttgart bei Prof. J\u00fcrgen Uhde und Prof. Vladimir Horbovsky und in Paris bei Prof. Marguerite Long. Weitere Studien unternahm er mit den Pianisten Geza Anda und Wilhelm Kempff. Er gewann Preise und Auszeichnungen bei Internationalen Klavierwettbewerben: Vercelli 1952 (2. Preis), M\u00fcnchen ARD-Wettbewerb 1952 und 1953 (Diplome), Paris 1953 (Diplom) und Neapel 1954 (1. Preis).<\/p>\n<p>Er war bekannt f\u00fcr seine Interpretationen von W. A. Mozart und J. S. Bach und unternahm mehr als 50 Jahre lang ausgedehnte Konzerttourneen in Westeuropa, Russland, dem Nahen und Fernen Osten, den Vereinigten Staaten und Lateinamerika. Er nahm Werke vom Barock bis zum 20. Jahrhundert mit verschiedenen Rundfunkanstalten auf, darunter der Saarl\u00e4ndische Rundfunk in Deutschland. In j\u00fcngster Zeit werden einige seiner Aufnahmen (z. Er konzertierte als Solist, Kammermusikpartner und spielte viele Orchesterkonzerte. Allein in Kolumbien war er mehr als 30mal als Musiker und auch als Lehrer eingeladen gewesen.<\/p>\n<p>Er war Professor f\u00fcr Klavier an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik in Saarbr\u00fccken\/Germany, wo er von 1963 \u2013 1992 eine Klavierklasse leitete. Als Juror in viele Wettbewerbe eingeladen, gr\u00fcndete er 1990, zusammen mit seiner langj\u00e4hrigen Studentin und Kollegin, Prof. Inge Rosar, den Internationalen Klavierwettbewerb J. S. Bach, der 1992 zum 1. Mal in Saarbr\u00fccken und seitdem alle 3 Jahre stattfand www.bach-competition.de<\/p>\n<p>War Walter Blankenheim bis zu seinem ca. 50. Lebensjahr als Mozart-Interpret bekannt gewesen, wurde er nun durch jahrzehntelange Besch\u00e4ftigung mit den Werken von J. S. Bach als Bachspezialist ber\u00fchmt. Sein Lebenswerk besteht in der Bearbeitung des neutralen Urtextes der Bachwerke f\u00fcr Klavier. Dazu geh\u00f6rt die Verdeutlichung der gegebenen Struktur, welche durch Artikulation und Dynamik unterst\u00fctzt wird. Auch versah er viele Suitens\u00e4tze mit Figurationen und Ornamentik.<\/p>\n<p>Zu vielen Konzerten von W. A. Mozart und auch zu Bachwerken komponierte er Kadenzen, welche in den n\u00e4chsten Jahren, zusammen mit seinen Bearbeitungen der Suitens\u00e4tze und vielen anderen Werken von J. S. Bach im Verlag La Folia, Sydney (Australien) erscheinen werden. Hierzu einige Gedanken:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"DE\">Der Interpret befindet sich in einem ihm durchaus bewussten Zwiespalt:<\/span><span lang=\"DE\"><br \/>\nEr soll die Musik zum Besten vermitteln \u2013 und obendrein, was ihm sicher noch wichtiger ist, sein artistisches K\u00f6nnen und sich selbst darstellen. Das Publikum, dieser Gesetzm\u00e4\u00dfigkeit folgend und gleichsam Richter, f\u00f6rdert durch \u201ekritisches Zuh\u00f6ren\u201c diesen Proze\u00df, der bei den Ausf\u00fchrenden zum Prinzip der Konkurrenz f\u00fchrt. Mit anderen Worten: Blick und Ohr des Zuh\u00f6rers (oft in dieser Reihenfolge) sind wesentlich auf die Person des Spielers und dessen Leistungspotential gerichtet und dieses steht somit zentral im Mittelpunkt des Konzertgeschehens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"DE\">Musik wird gleichsam zum Medium, durch welches sich die Person darstellt, statt dass sich die Musik selbst darstellt. Dies gilt von Haydn bis Strawinskij, sozusagen ausnahmslos, wobei die im Konzert \u201eabgestrahlte Pers\u00f6nlichkeit\u201c des Interpreten zum eigentlichen, mehr oder weniger nachhaltigen Erlebnis wird.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"DE\">Die Interpretation von Werken Bachs folgt ganz offensichtlich anderen Gesetzen, weil ihr das Spezifikum \u201eArtistik\u201c abgeht. Der Urgrund Bachscher Komposition scheint die genannten Umst\u00e4nde nicht zu dulden: Der Interpret steht hier \u2013 nur und nur \u2013 im Dienste des Werkes und sein sonst legitimer Wunsch nach \u201eSelbst-Darstellung\u201c kann in dieser Musik eigentlich nicht stattfinden, es sei denn, er spielt den Komponisten\u00a0<a name=\"weiterlesen\"><\/a>\u201efalsch\u201c.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"DE\">Die Bach-Interpretation und deren Aufnahme durch den Zuh\u00f6rer erfordern somit ver\u00e4nderte Positionen auf beiden Seiten: Der Interpret muss \u201everstehen\u201c, was er spielt, d. h. er muss den fast v\u00f6llig neutralen Text erst f\u00fcr sich \u201ebearbeiten\u201c, um ihn sinnvoll spielen zu k\u00f6nnen. Dieses Verstehen der strukturellen Vorg\u00e4nge und seine Einf\u00fchlung f\u00fcr die musikalisch-inhaltlichen Erlebniswerte und ihre \u201eEnergetik\u201c muss er dem Zuh\u00f6rer glaubhaft vermitteln. Dieser kann das Werk aber nur dann richtig erfahren, wenn er durch ver\u00e4u\u00dferte Interventionen des Spielers nicht gest\u00f6rt wird.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-fs3p8-248e2a9ba3069e192cc973f5731917af av_one_half  avia-builder-el-10  el_after_av_one_half  avia-builder-el-last  flex_column_div  '     ><section  id=\"Text\"  class='av_textblock_section av-vvos-70f2cd5c6803b54da1a06f7a742a480e '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><span lang=\"DE\">Der Zuh\u00f6rer muss direkt konfrontiert sein mit dem Werk, ohne Behinderung durch artistische Neben-effekte, die auf die spielende Person aufmerksam machen. Er ist somit aufgefordert, Musik absolut aufzunehmen \u2013 ein gewiss hoher Anspruch!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"DE\">Bach war ein Mensch aus Fleisch und Blut, im Laufe seines beruflichen Lebens konfrontiert mit den Erfordernissen des Adels und der Kirche, Erfordernisse, die ihm nicht immer bequem waren \u2013 dabei Oberhaupt einer Multifamilie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"DE\">Die Menge seiner Kompositionen \u00fcbersteigt jedes Vorstellungsverm\u00f6gen. Es ist anzunehmen, dass die Niederschrift seiner Kompositionen in gleicher Schnelligkeit erfolgte wie seine Ideen sprudelten \u2013 ein Vergleich mit dem Genie Mozarts liegt nahe, beide jedoch im Gegensatz zu Beethoven, der ein Suchender und Ringender der musikalischen Materie war und Zeit ben\u00f6tigte.<br \/>\n<\/span><span lang=\"DE\"><br \/>\nVon J. S. Bach darf man sagen, dass er \u201egesandt\u201c ist f\u00fcr alle, die Musik h\u00f6ren k\u00f6nnen und wollen. F\u00fcr ihn, Bach, war seine Stellung im Protestantismus Luther\u2019scher Pr\u00e4gung zwar\u00a0vorgegeben, aber nicht richtungsweisend: seine Musik wird in der ganzen Welt geh\u00f6rt, wenn auch zuweilen mit einer Art \u201eRespekt\u201c, die bis zur Distanz f\u00fchrt, aber an der universalen Gr\u00f6\u00dfe J. S. Bachs zweifelt wohl niemand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"DE\">Er ist der Komponist mit der weitesten Zukunft. Die Interpretation seiner Musik ist zu verstehen als<\/span><span lang=\"DE\">\u00a0\u201c belebte Struktur\u201c, wobei der individuellen Temperamentslage sicher Raum gegeben ist, ganz pers\u00f6nliche Akzente zu setzen, die da hei\u00dfen m\u00f6gen:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"DE\"><br \/>\n<em>Energie und \u201eRelaxing\u201c<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Struktur und Gef\u00fchl<\/em><br
